Checks, extensions, and guides for names you’re serious about
BenOpt brings together availability checks, extension comparison for one label, appraisal, and writing for anyone who lives in spreadsheets of name ideas. More tools and guides will land here over time. Nothing requires an account.
Checks run on the Cloudflare edge using DNS-over-HTTPS and RDAP where registries publish it. Always confirm price and eligibility at your registrar.

The point of BenOpt is not a single button. It is a small toolkit you can return to while you are naming something real: clear availability signals, a fast way to compare extensions, a rough appraisal layer, and articles when you want more depth than a tooltip.
We bias toward honesty over hype. DNS can be quiet on a registered name. RDAP does not cover every TLD the same way. When something matters for money or legal risk, treat these pages as a first pass, then confirm at a registrar and with proper counsel.

Shortlist strings
Paste full domains in the checker, or check domain extensions for one label you like.

Compare what looks open
Read the status chips carefully. Verified Available still deserves a registrar double-check before you buy.

Four entry points. Each opens in the browser with no signup wall.
Bulk availability checker
Paste up to 500 full domains per run. We query DNS-over-HTTPS, then RDAP when a name still looks available.

Start from one label and scan it across 50 or 100 popular extensions in a single pass.
Check extensions →Domain appraisal
Get a quick structural and language baseline for resale thinking, separate from live availability.

How we approach domain checks
BenOpt is built around a simple workflow: use public DNS to spot obvious use, then ask RDAP when a name still looks empty. That pairing stays fast enough for long lists, but it stays honest about limits. DNS can be quiet on a registered name, and RDAP coverage varies by TLD, so we label rows carefully and ask you to confirm anything important at a registrar.
The bulk checker accepts hundreds of full domains per run and batches the work so your browser stays responsive. The extension check starts from a single left-hand label and builds a curated set of popular extensions automatically. When you want a rough resale baseline on a shortlist, follow up with the domain name appraisal tool, which scores structure and language instead of live availability.

Privacy and accounts
We do not require an account to run the checkers. Your lists are not stored on our servers for later replay. Treat the output as a planning aid, not a contract: prices, premium tiers, and registry policies still live at the registrar you choose.
Note: For deeper essays on naming and domains, browse the blog. Nothing here replaces trademark counsel or registry contracts.
Start with a list
Paste one domain per line. Full URLs are fine. We remove duplicates and strip protocols before scanning.
